Supersize Your Family on Knowledge not Junk Food

Can you guess what McDonald’s food item this is? Ice cream? A strawberry milkshake?

Wrong! It’s mechanically separated chicken. It is what all fast-food chicken is made – things like chicken nuggets and patties. Also, the processed frozen chicken in the stores is made from it. Basically, the entire chicken is smashed and pressed through a sieve — bones, eyes, guts and all. And it comes out looking like this.

I just watched “Supersize Me” with my boys, and it’s brilliant! Every parent should watch this movie with their kids. It’s a great way to wean them from junk food, fast food and soft drinks. “Supersize Me” is directed by Morgan Spurlock, and it shows exactly what happens when you live (and die) on fast food.
